The Question

What if the mid-market had the same AI advantage the enterprise is building?

The big consultancies are racing to service enterprise AI budgets. The mid-market — which is most of the economy — is getting told it will get around to them eventually. It won't. They don't have R20m for a McKinsey engagement. They also don't have an in-house AI team to DIY it. Someone has to meet them in the middle.

What I Built

An AI consultancy built specifically for mid-market businesses. Three products: a free website audit that surfaces live AI-readiness gaps, a paid 10-domain audit (self-serve via PayFast) that goes deep on each, and implementation engagements where the agent workflows actually get built and shipped.

Under the hood it's a company run by agents. Alex Vance is an 8-agent Paperclip company — CEO, Content Director, Ops Director, PM, Designer, Lead Eng, QA Eng, Opt Eng — with 48 skills and 27 routines covering content, outreach, research, and operations. Website on Next.js 15 and Vercel. Audit engine on a VPS. A single Google Sheet as source of truth for pipeline.

What I Learned

The rare combination is what makes this work. CA(SA), CFA, years running a crypto fund, hands-on AI building. Most consultancies have one or two of those. Being able to sit across from a CFO and then ship the automation myself is the entire moat. The work isn't teaching mid-market businesses what AI is. It's designing what it does for them.
